Workshop 8 (Monday 8th July)

Today was very productive because we got to have a run through in the space we will be performing in. This allowed myself and the client group get used to what we would be working in and how it will look on the day.

I think towards the end of the day everyone lost concentration a little bit and was getting stressed with each other. (it was a very long process) Once we all talked through the order and structure of the song it was a lot easier to get on with. We decided it would be nice to finish the performance with our main song but slow down the tempo and then to a stop. When rehearsing this we had some trouble getting the timing right but once me and Jess had worked together on the drum and guitar beat, we seemed to get the hang of it more. There was a moment in our final song where our client member was rapping and to add a musical contrast at the end of a sentence the guitar and drum beat stopped and he just rapped on his own. I felt this added some uniqueness to our performance and it sounded better to.

I feel for the performance on Friday we just need to all have fun and remember that our clients are not used to performing and this is an exciting experience for them! The work we have done over the past few weeks has been so incredible and I am super excited to showcase it to an audience of family and friends.
