Today we spent the session looking at our life stories and experiences and sharing with group. The first story told really touched everyone as it was Josh's story on how his brother was murdered. It was really lovely to hear everyone open up and share with us about the different things that have happened in there life some good and some tragic. All of the stories were really moving but some of the members from turnaround were not comfortable with there stories been performed in front of an audience. My group used one of our clients story on how she became a set-up chick we highlighted the parts we thought would be dramatic and portrayed well on stage. I played the role of the social worker. Our director was well involved and contributed fully and gave us clear directions and ideas that we could use in our play.............
When we performed what we had prepared to the rest of the group we had some really positive reactions. They said it was very emotional and in powering but we just need to work on what characters we actually are. I was told social workers dont care sometimes and you should just ignore what your client is saying i did this and was on my phone in are conversation. A funny moment in our play is when im on my phone, then i put my phone away Maisie gets out her phone and i tell her she cant have phones during our interview,.
Today we also visited the recording studio to talk about recording the songs we have wrote of the last few weeks. It was so lovely to see the clients reaction when we were in the studio. It was a new experience for both me and them!! We went through some backing tracks we could play behind our piece and decided on a very up tempo pace. Everyone is now really excited to start recording on Monday!
We also went through some choreography for our opening part of our show today. the choreographer was all our mirroring the person opposite you and showing two different sides. I picked up the choreography pretty well and I think it's going to look really nice in the show!
