Workshop 4 (Friday 17th June)

Today we would prepare our workshop which involved doing some spoken word and workshop based things. The day started off by the group getting together and discussing who would be best at delivering each part of the workshop. We all agreed that someone from theatre should deliver the free writing task as they do this on a regular basis. The Brit students suggested that instead of giving our client group something to write about just let the minds flow and write down what comes to their heads.

We split the group into 2, half doing a spoken word workshop and the other doing music. Because the majority wanted to do music, we felt we should give everyone a go at doing both and swap the groups around. When my group came together, we spoke about the different material we had created outside of the session and it was really beautiful to hear some of the things us and them had written. Because Myself and Harry lead the beat boxing workshop where we went around the circle and each person had to add in a sound or a piece of body percussion to make a melody with one another. We used this method to create our music on the small group and it worked really well and developed very fast.

I took some screenshots from other people as i could could get any photos .
I played the guitar in the song. This was different for me as I am used to playing guitar by myself and learning new techniques as i am a self-taught guitarist.

Here is a screenshot of some rapping.

This girl started to rap and i decided to join in with a 4 chord sequence that fit really nicely..

Rosie and jess came up with a chorus for the song which carried our client's bars.

We told our clients that for next week they should look over there lyrics and also bring in any more material they might have. The session was a really positive one and had laid out a very positive outcome for a final production.
