As our client group arrived we started Playing our Games that we had planned.
The running order of the day was as follows:
11am - Arrival
1. Name game - Led by Jess - This game involved people pairing up and finding different things about the erpson and then sharing it will; the whole group. I was paired with the Care worker and found out she loves working with young people and loves to Ski even though she can't do it. I felt this game helped everyone to settle in and to get to know everyone although not amazingly well but just to know there names and what they like to do. i think our client group were abit overwhelmed with friendliness form the Brit school students but carried on with the games.
2. Get in order of oldest to youngest
Height order in silence -Led by Matthew and Sarah
A-Z of Name
This game consisted of the whole group having to get in a line of order in either height, name or age. this was very easy for me as I am one of the youngest (End of the line), One of the tallest (Beginning of the Line) and by name is in the middle of the alphabet (Middle of the line). I Believe that this game allowed the individuals to know about everyone appearance age and overall just get to know who they are more. i think we all struggled with the silent game because we still had only known our client group[ for 30 Minutes.
3. Eastenders zip-zap-boing! Led by Molly - This game was one of the most fun games we played it showed some acting skills aswell as comedic qualities. The aim of the game is to be the last man standing whilst using phrases and quotes from the soap drama "Eastenders". This game opened the client group up and we had a laugh about the game, some people were less influenced to join in although hopefully by the end of the project they would have enough confidence to be able to show us there true spirit.
4. Anyone Who? - Led by Tuwaine - This is a game that i also thoroughly enjoyed , the aim of the game was not to lose your chair. one person in the middle would say " Anyone Who.......Wears pink socks" now anyone who wears pink socks has to get off the chair and move to a different one and if you dont get a chair your in the middle. I think this was the game where people started to enjoy the project and be excited about why they joined this project. I think this is because it involved running round people and it was a very competitive game with everyone wanting to grab a chair to win.
5. Bomb and shield - Led by Rosie
6. Space game - Led by Beth
7. Follow the leader - Led by Nyah
8. Hot and cold - Led by Harry
9. Magic calculator - Led by Masie
10. Tours of the school - Led by All - We took our client group around the school which helped them become aware of the surrounding areas.
11. Ending - Led By Matthew and Sarah - Sarah spoke about the Arts award in which our client group are trying to achieve. we also wrote down things on a piece of paper we wish to achieve by doing this project my one was to change my perspective of young offenders
I feel like everyone delivered clear and concise game instructions as everyone understood what was needed to take part in the game. When i was watching the pother BRIT students take part in their part of the workshop it helped me to see what worked and what didn't. Some of us weren't completely clear in instructions we were giving and this made it confusing for us all. Also we need to make sure that what we say is not confusing for our clients because they may not understand hard words, we need to make sure we explain what these words mean to everyone so that no one feels left out.
